Starting with the 14-15 school year, new assessments (Smarter Balanced Consortium) have been designed as Missouri's English Language Arts and Math MAP tests for 3rd-8th grades. Administered online, these new assessments include writing at every grade, expanded accessibility features to meet the needs of all students, and performance tasks that ask students to demonstrate an array of research, writing, and problem solving skills.
This session will focus on the ELA and Math summative assessment format (fixed format and performance tasks), response types (selected and constructed), grade level content, and accommodations (Universal tools, Designated Supports, Accommodations for students with and without disabilities and ELL’s). In addition, participants will explore the Smarter Balanced Digital Library’s instructional modules and formative assessment resources. Teachers can quickly search the Digital Library by criteria such as grade level, ELA and Math Missouri Learning standards, target student populations, and much more.
Note: Please contact your District Testing Coordinator to obtain your username and password to the Digital Library prior to attending this session. Special School District educators should contact either their partner district or SSD’s DTC for a username.
