In this full day of learning space emersion participants will visit three re-designed school sites while participating in a full day, "Learning Space Design Workshop." What does that mean? Participants will experience each space as a learner, they will see how innovative spaces can positively amplify learning all while designing their own space with Educator, Co-Author of the book, "Spaces, a Guide for Educators" and Learning Space Designer, Rebecca Hare. We will discuss how each space was designed and why choices were made while reflecting on, and developing, our own designs. Participants will leave the workshop with a clear vision, design ideas, items to purchase or re-purpose and plan for implementation for their own learning space.

Go from “What is Twitter and How do I get started?” to “Oh my goodness, I didn’t know Twitter was all that and more!” This workshop will provide an overview of the micro-blogging, social media tool, Twitter. Twitter is an incredible source for professional development and collaboration to add to your personal learning network. Growing a Personal Learning Network (PLN) on Twitter can be a confusing and time-consuming endeavor. We will share resources to help navigate the education community on Twitter. We will have guest #MOedchat Moderators to help us learn how to participate in chats and follow the conversation. Whether you’re new to social media or an #edchat veteran, we can help clarify questions and share best practices that will make the most out of your tweeting experience. We encourage you to have a Twitter account and be ready to Tweet away.

Are you looking for research-based instructional strategies to improve student learning? Would you like to learn how to use technology with these instructional strategies? During this workshop, you will 1) learn about Marzano’s nine research-based instructional strategies for enhancing student achievement, 2) discuss ways in which to use technology with these strategies, and 3) begin planning technology-infused lessons or units that use effective instructional practices. This class is based on the material in Using Technology with Classroom Instruction that Works. Participants will use this book along with a customized wiki and blog to get real, hands-on experience with technology integration. Purchase of the book is recommended, but not required.
